Well I stated it last week here on The TNA Tribune…..you do not want to miss August 12th, 2010 edition of TNA iMPACT! I sure hope you didn’t. If you did, shame on you, and if you didn’t, I thank you. But either if you watched it or you didn’t watch it, I hope you can sit where you are and enjoy The TNA Tribune!
This week’s show featured 6 PPV quality matches. PPV is Pay-Per-View for all of you new people. Now there were 6 matches and no interviews. Really if you wanted to see wrestling…..you should have tuned into this show. It was what TNA is….Total Non-Stop Action! It was off the charts! Many are saying it was one of the best TNA show in quite some time. I read from many people that they actually enjoyed it and they usually don’t. That’s why it was…..The Whole F’n Show!

Here was the Match Card:

Ranking 8 Kurt Angle vs. Ranking 6 AJ Styles

Winner: Kurt Angle

Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne (Champ) for the Knockout Title

Winner and New Champion: Angelina Love

The Pope vs. Matt Morgan vs. Mr. Anderson

Winner: Matt Morgan

Jeff Hardy vs. Shannon Moore

Winner: Jeff Hardy

Best of 5 Series 5: 2 out of 3 Falls Match: Motor City Machine Guns (Champs) vs. Beer Money for the TNA
Tag Team Titles

Winners and STILL Tag Champs: Motor City Machine Guns

Stairway to Janice Match: Rob Van Dam (Champ) vs. Abyss for the TNA World Championship

Winner and STILL Champ: Rob Van Dam

Now let me give you my thoughts on these matches:
As I stated above, this show as all matches, no interviews. It went from match to match with just commercial breaks. Let me just say, that’s what you call a wrestling show!!! I mean I turn on this channel on Monday Night and all I get is talking and talking and no wrestling. If I want to hear talking, I would talk myself as my voice is better than those. Now let me get back to TNA. Our first match was AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle. Last week I said when these two are in the ring, magic is made. I remember their match on January’s 4th showing and that was an instant classic. Of course, that went head to head against Raw and just that match beat the whole Raw show. Well we have this match tonight. Now It wasn’t as good as the match then, but it certainly was great. We seen a back and forth battle as these two went at it. This match went from in the ring, outside the ring, inside the ring. It was crazy. We seen AJ get whipped into the ropes, but kept ducking a Kurt Angle closeline. Kurt Angle then ran into the ropes and after some counters……AJ planted a perfect dropkick to the face of Kurt. We saw Kurt hit a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker during the match and also a wicked moonsault. It was a great match. Now it’s not only about Kurt. AJ showed why he is 2010’s PWI 500 #1 Star. He did unbelievable moves from the corner and even in the middle of the ring with a paylay kick. AJ hit the paylay and went for a cover. He thought it was 3 but only got a 2. He was arguing with the ref, but that allowed time for Kurt to get up. He got up, Angle Slammed AJ and got the cover: 1-2-OH! It was only 2! These two went at it even more. Kurt was going for a german suplex on Aj, but he grabbed the ref from behind. As he was holding onto the ref, AJ tried for a low blow kick….but Kurt caught his leg, snapped him down and got the Ankle Lock. AJ tapped without hesitation and Kurt wins again. Kurt will be moving into the #6 ranking next week when the ratings come out.
The next match was a Knockout Match. I have to say, this wasn’t my favorite match when you consider wrestling and length wise…..but look wise….how can you go wrong?! In all seriousness though, TNA Knockouts aren’t about the look. They are here to wrestle. Now this was better than anything you would see on WWE. These two wrestled it out as Madison Rayne put her title on the line against Angelina Love. Don’t get me wrong, these two look great, but when I watch TNA, I am here to watch wrestling and that’s exactly what we got. These two were battling it out after Madison finally stopped hiding behind the referee. As these two were fighting, the lady in black on the motorcycle came out. She has been coming out week by week and we are just about to find out who she is. It’s about time because I have been dying to see who it is. Now she came to ringside….but she wasn’t on her feet for long as Velvet Sky came behind her and hit her with a chair in the back. She fell to the ground. Velvet went over to her head and took off the huge helmet she has…..only to reveal she is wearing another mask. She was trying to take that off, until the lady in black stopped her with a kick to the head. As that was happening….Madison brought in a cookie sheet or some sort. She hit Love in the back with it and tried for a pin….but Love kicked out. After some more fighting, Love got Rayne down and for the 3 count. That makes her a 5X Knockout Champion and that means she is the most decorated women’s champion in TNA history. Great job Love!
We can’t stop there…..OH NO….we got plenty of other matches to get to. The next match was Matt Morgan vs. The Pope vs. Mr. Anderson. The show came back at the beginning of Anderson’s entrance. He talked on the mic for a few minutes and then went to the ring. The others were already in the ring. As soon as the match started, Pope and Anderson teamed up as they went after Morgan. They double teamed Morgan for quite some time, but when it came time to pin Morgan, they had to put their friendship behind them. They kept stopping each other’s covers as they just couldn’t see their friend win. They wanted themselves to win. Well as they were arguing about it….Morgan came up and double closelined both of them. Morgan continued on the offense as he got a win. I thought the match was a bit too short as these three could have really gone wild, not Orlando Jordon wild, but you get what I am saying. I am glad Morgan won though as I really think he deserves better. You already know that from reading the past few weeks. Well Morgan is on his way it seems. I am hoping to see Morgan in the Top 10 Ranking next week and then move down month by month! Go get them Matt!
The next match was an Open Invitational Match. The person who was challenging anyone was Jeff Hardy. You all know Jeff Hardy from reading this weeks ago. He has been undefeated on TNA since the beginning of July. It’s past July and now in the middle of August. Who knows who he is fighting and who knows if he can still be undefeated. Well out came Shannon Moore. Moore came out and had a mic in his hand. He said that even though him and Jeff are friends, he always wanted to fight him. He said how they are brothers and it doesn’t matter if it’s win, lose, or draw…..they will still walk out brothers. Well the match started and I was surprised to see Shannon control about 75% of the match. He really took it to the undefeated star. The match went all over the ring….from corner to corner. It also went outside with some high risk moves. It was a great match that lasted for about 7 minutes. After Shannon was in control, Jeff came back and hit a Twist of Fate. He climbed the corner and hit the Swanton Bomb……but Moore put his knees up. When he went to cover Jeff, I thought the match was going to be over…..but it wasn’t. Jeff got another chance a little later and he finally hit the Swanton Bomb to perfection. He got the cover: 1-2-3 and is still undefeated. I am telling you…..Jeff is on a role! If he isn’t the #1 ranked star next week…..I don’t know who is.
Now after that match came the real match that everyone has been anticipating. People all around from different websites said this match was a Match of the Year Candidate. It was Motor City Machine Guns vs. Beer Money in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match. Now this was their last match in the Best of 5 Series. We saw a Ladder Match, a Steel Cage Match, a Street Fight, and an Ultimate X…..and now 2 out of 3 Falls. I thought we wouldn’t see a better one than the Ladder Match…..but we saw the Street Fight. I thought we couldn’t see any better….but we saw the Steel Cage. Then came the Ultimate X. Nothing could beat the Ultimate X…..but that statement was wrong. This match just blew me away. It was my favorite match of the night! It lasted over 20 minutes…..what a real match should last. It was back and forth action with the 1st match lasting quite a long time, 2nd match the shortest, and not sure where the 3rd match stood but it was certainly the most exciting. I had no idea who was going to win. Both teams are excellent, but only one is the best. After seeing this match, I do think Machine Guns are the best tag team in the world. They can do every tag team move to perfection and with perfect timing. I do like Beer Money, and think their tag team gimmick is brilliant, but I just don’t see them at the top. Very close 2nd, but Machine Guns past them. I would like to see Roode go as a single’s competitor…..but I want Beer Money to last as long as they can. Keep them heel and keep them big…..that’s all you need for their success. As for Machine Guns…..keep them as a tag team as their singles career can wait. Both teams are the best thing around…..again….best thing AROUND……AROUND the whole world. Sorry Hart Dynasty, but you aren’t in these teams league. Now we saw moves from suicide dives to springboard cross bodies. We saw some double stomp to the chest to DDT on the ring apron. We had seen some double team neckbreaker and powerbomb move and double team neckbreaker and big splash move. Beer Money got the first match, but Machine Guns got the second. Machine Guns got the 3rd and that led to their win. They held the titles high as fireworks exploded above them. Now when we first saw the double team neckbreaker big splash from the Guns at the end of Match 3…..I thought it was over…..but it WASN’T! They kicked out! I couldn’t believe it. My mouth was actually opened as I was shocked. They went to do the move again and they got the 3. One of my favorite parts of the match was when we saw unlimited kicks to each other. I mean you had a super kick from Shelly or Sabin on Storm….but Storm came back with a huge super kick. The other Machine Gun member did some kick and I think Roode came in and did a kick of some sort. Not quite sure how it played out, but it certainly was awesome. The whole match was awesome. I am sad that the Series it over, but I can’t wait what is in store next for these two teams (The ending of TNA gave me some insight for Beer Money).
The last match of the night was purely extreme! It was purely violent and dangerous. It was RVD vs. Abyss for the TNA World Title in a Stairway to Janice Match. Now I wasn’t sure how this match worked. I mean is it a Ladder Match? You get the object that is hanging and you win? I realized that didn’t make much sense…..which isn’t what happened. You can get the weapon and use it but the match was for pins and submissions. Now we saw everything in this match. From ladders to chairs to tacks to glass to barbwire! I mean you usually see ladders or chairs…..but not tacks. You rarely see glass and barely see barbwire….but we saw all of that! Let me say, you can’t find that anywhere else on TV! Not on a Monday Night, Tuesday Night, or Friday Night. To be clearer……you can’t find that on any WWE show. That is why TNA is so special…..that’s why I love TNA! Now the barbwire, tacks, and glass were all used against Abyss….poor man! He got cut up at the arms and face. He was without a doubt bleeding. He wasn’t the only one who took bumps though. RVD did a Rolling Thunder on the bare ladder. RVD got in with the ladder in the face and gut multiple times……but all of that paid off as he got the pin. Abyss may have got Janice, the 2X4 wood with nails sticking out, but that doesn’t mean he won. He lost the match even though he got the weapon. It was certainly a great match…..not only that, a great show. Loved it….just loved it!
Now TNA wasn’t done. As RVD was celebrating in the ring, Hulk Hogan came on the stage. Fireworks exploded in the air for his entrance. The show was advertising that he had a special surprise at the end of the show. Well it’s the end of the show and here he is…..so what is the surprise? Well he wanted to thank RVD for being champ and raising TNA to new heights. He said how much he loved HardCORE Justice. He stated that he respects the EV 2.0 guys even more now. So he had a surprise for Rob. The surprise was to bring the EV 2.0 stars out to the ring one last time to celebrate with RVD on his title victory. All of them came out from Sunday. You had Sabu and Tommy Dreamer. You had Team 3D and Rhino. You had so many stars. (Let me say, HardCORE Justice was a great PPV! I watched it and I enjoyed it from top to bottom. I loved it.) As all of them are in the ring, the lights went out. I thought….oh, here is Sandman. I mean that’s what we saw last week……BUT, BUT, BUT…..then the lights came on, we didn’t see any Sandman. Instead we saw Mick Foley lying on the mat. I had no idea what that was about. Just then people were attacking the EV 2.0 stars. I had no idea what was going on until they showed a close up. It was Fortune. They came in the ring as the lights went out. They had weapons from kendo sticks to hockey sticks to trashcan lids. They took out each and every extreme star. From Sabu to Tommy to Rhino! Team 3D got taken out! Raven came walking down the ramp as the war battled….but Storm was right by the steps. Raven came walking past….but Storm jumped to him and hit him with a beer bottle on the top of the head. Raven fell instantly. Storm worked the glass into his head as Raven got cut open. He then went to Devon Dugley and cut his face open with glass. Everyone was bleeding. It was a scene we never saw before. It was total destruction. While all of the carnage was taking place, Abyss came back down after being backstage and took RVD out of the ring. He carried him to the back. After all of the EV 2.0 stars were down, Ric Flair came down the ramp with a huge smile on his face. The camera cut to backstage where we saw nothing but blood! Rob was lying on the floor with his wrestling gear cut up and blood all over the floor and his body. It was a scene from a murder movie. The camera raised and we saw Abyss holding the bloody Janice! He finally used her and the result wasn’t pretty. Medics came to Rob and he got taken away by an ambulance. We saw Dixie right behind the automobile as it sped away. You can hear her say, “Follow them Terry”…..which is Hulk’s name. Just from that, it makes it so realistic and so reality based! Don’t know who thought of that….Vince Russo or Eric Bischoff…..but realistic gestures aren’t dead yet.
With that being the ending, you can only imagine what next week is going to be like. I can only guess! I mean is “They” that Abyss been saying for months Fortune? What is the condition of RVD? What will happen to the TNA World Title? Not only that, but we are having the new Rankings coming out. It’s certainly going to be a crazy night! You don’t want to miss it! I am leaving you with my Top 5 Rankings for this week, so don’t miss TNA next week as it will be an action packed show that is filled with answers! Don’t forget….TNA’s ReAction is now airing at the end of TNA iMPACT. It started this week and I got to say, it’s great! The way it is filmed is great. It gives the stoylines that reality based situation that I just go crazy for. I recommend it.
The TNA’s Tribune Top 5 Ranking:

1. Motor City Machine Guns- They were 2 last week and I said if they win this week, they would move up to the #1 spot! Well they won and are declared the best tag team in the world! I congratulate them as they truly put on amazing matches! Their match this week…..the best tag team match I’ve possibly ever seen!
2. Jeff Hardy- He was off last week, but here this week and he won AGAIN! He’s undefeated since the beginning of July on iMPACT! He went from #4 last week to #2.
3. Rob Van Dam- He has won another Title Shot. He has fought many stars while he was champion and he defeated them all. He won his toughest challenge yet in a very hardcore bout. Great job. He dropped from #1 last week to #3.
4. Kurt Angle- I was glad to see Kurt Angle in action. Every time he is in action it’s always special. He proved himself why he’s the best ever! He beat Styles and is moving his way down the rankings. He got a spot in ours!
5. Angelina Love- She won the Knockout Title for the 5th time….making her the most decorated knockout in TNA history!

Sorry to Abyss (Ranked 3rd last week) and Taylor Wilde and Hamada (Ranked 5th last week) but both got kicked off the rankings.

July 29th, 2010 marks another episode of TNA iMPACT! With that being said, it means another edition of The TNA Tribune. I am astonished that it’s been a week already since the last episode of TNA. Can anyone agree that this week went fast? Well enough blabbering. It’s time to talk some TNA!

As soon as the show started, we saw the Hardcore Legends in the ring, the stars of Rhino, Mick Foley, Raven, Tommy Dreamer, Stevie Richards, and now Devon. Tommy got on the mic and stated how he is thankful for Devon to join the family. Without wasting any time, Brother Ray came out on stage. We know Bubba and Devon have their troubles in recent months. Devon got on the mic and said how the stars in the ring are his family. He said that they have been with us since day one. Ray didn’t buy that one bit. Tommy got on the mic but that didn’t help the situation at all. Mick Foley then got on and finally Tazz stood up from his announcer’s chair and told Bubba to “Just do it”. Ray walked into the ring and went right up to Devon. He said, “Just answer one question. Are we going to lit someone on fire?” The crowd roared. They started to chant EV 2.0. Now let me just say, I have no problem with that chant or phrase. In fact, I like how it flows when you chant it. Ray then said he would join in on the fun.

The opening didn’t end there though. After all of that, the legendary Hulk Hogan walked out to the ring. As Tazz stated, he never would have thought he would see those guys stand in the presence of Hulk Hogan back in the day. Well Hogan came out and said that these stars are going to ride again. He thanked Dixie Carter for doing this for them. But not soon after that, the crazy monster arrives. Abyss comes on stage and walked into the ring. Of course, he holds his little girl Janice. He stated that “they” aren’t too happy about this. He also said that “they” are coming and they want Tommy Dreamer gone from TNA when they come. Now let me just say something here. All along, I thought “they” meant the hardcore stars, but it’s not. I have no idea who “they” are, but honestly, it really catches my interest. Abyss then went on to say that it’s not Hulk’s fault that this happened….but Dixie’s fault. The camera shows Dixie and she has a worried look on her face. Tommy got on and said he would love to fight Abyss. We know that Dixie is worried about Abyss and Hulk surely is. The match is going to happen tonight and it’s a Hardcore Rules Match!

Here are the matches and results this week:

Angelina Love vs. Sarita — No. 1 Contender Match for Knockouts Title

Winner: Angelina Love

Ink Inc. vs. Orlando Jordan & Eric Young

Winner: Ink Inc.

Best of Five Series 3- Steel Cage Match: TNA World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns vs. Beer Money

Winner: Motor City Machine Guns

Kazarian vs. Rob Terry

Winner: Rob Terry

Murphy, Gunner, & Matt Morgan vs. Jeff Hardy & Mr. Anderson

Winner: Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson

Tommy Dreamer vs. Abyss in a Hardcore Match

Winner: Abyss

TNA had a total of 6 matches tonight and I am going to go over each one with you on how I thought they went.
The first started with a knockout match. I’ve been saying it and saying it since I started this…..Sarita needs to be on television more. What happens? She is in another match this week. This time it’s in a #1 Contender’s Match. It was great seeing her in a one-on-one match as that’s what she does best in my mind. Now she fought Angelina Love. This match was fast pace and back and forth. It had many pinfall attempts but none where successful. They went at it but Love came out on top and now is facing for the Knockout Title. It looks like she is going to get another crack at it. Hopefully this time she can pull it off. I’d just like to say it was great seeing Sarita and I hope it stays that way.
The next match was a tag team match. It was Ink Inc. vs. a very strange pairing. It was Orlando Jordan and Eric Young. Now let me say, when I first saw them pair up on the show, I wasn’t happy about it, but when the story came together that Eric landed right on his head at a Live Event, it made sense and is actually a good storyline. Now Eric asks completely different from when he did months ago. He is eccentric…..and I like it. Both met up backstage before their match and Eric was talking about his incident. He told Jordan that he has backup for them tonight so he shouldn’t worry. Jordan was confused as Eric just walked away. We know the story about Jordan’s character, but he said, “And I thought I was strange.” As we saw Jordan’s bizarre entrance, where he gave his gum away to So Cal Val, we saw Eric come out with a mannequin. That…..was his backup. He set it in the corner just like a normal person to tag in. As Jordan started the match and was getting beat up, Eric extended his arm, and the dummies arm for a tag. Jordan got up and, without his knowledge, he tagged the dummy. Eric lifted it up and threw it in the ring. I guess it has superpowers like Superman. Well the mannequin fell apart in the ring. Jordan got up as he was still in the ring and asked Eric what’s the matter with him. Well Ink Inc. came from behind and pushed Jordan….who pushed Eric off the apron. Ink set up and hit a double team move and they got the win. Eric then slid in the ring and called for help……not for Jordan, but for the dummy.
Now I would have put this match at the end of the show, but after seeing the ending, I am completely find where this match stands on the card. It was the Steel Cage Match between Machine Guns and Beer Money. I didn’t know it was going to be a Steel Cage Match this week, but when they announced it, I was thrilled. This match lasted little under 10 minutes, but every minute, more like every second of this match had some action going on. I don’t know if any match can beat their Ladder Match, but this match was great. Machine Guns made a great entrance into the match as they came from the crowd and climbed up the ramp behind Beer Money. They turned around and Guns flew in the air for a double flying cross body. The match started and it was wild. Robert Roode got cut open badly as his face was covered with blood. This match was fast pace as we seen many double team moves. The only thing I don’t like about the tag team cage match is that one partner from each side has to be in a corner. I think they should just go at it all at once, but that’s my opinion. I do have to say; even having the tag team at the corner still makes for a better cage match than WWE. Now at the end of the match, we saw James Storm swing his famous beer bottle at Sabin, but he ducked and Storm hit Roode right in his bloody head. He fell right to the mat while Machine Guns got Storm and hit a double team move, covered and got the 1-2-3! It was marked by flying cross bodies from the top of the cage, blood, double team moves, and fast pace wrestling…..everything needed for an exciting match. The series is now 2-1. Machine Guns picked Ultimate X next week. I really can NOT wait for that match! Aw, I want to see it right now. Guns need to win that one otherwise the Series would be over.
The next match lasted for all of about 1 minute. It was Kaz vs. Rob Terry. Before this match, AJ Styles said he will be facing Terry next week, but he wants to see Kaz hurt him this week so he won’t have to do much work next week. I’ll talk more about that later, but it looks like AJ’s wish never happened. Terry beat him to a pulp in a matter of a minute. He had total control. He is a raging machine. Now AJ has to face him next week…….and by looking at Rob, AJ is going to have his hands full.
The feud of Matt Morgan and Mr. Anderson, which started last week, as added a twist onto it. Now instead of talking about it later, I will talk about it now. Mr. Anderson’s music came on and everyone expected him…..but Matt Morgan came out. He went in the ring and waved his arm in the air like Anderson so the mic would fall from the sky. Well it didn’t. Morgan tried again and it slowly came down. Actually, he had to jump up to get it. He mocked Anderson’s with his famous sayings. You know Anderson wouldn’t like this much. He came out on stage and called for the mic. It came down quickly. He threw it back up and it went back to the rafters. He asked for it again and it came back down easily. He told Morgan that it’s that easy. He then walked to the ring and Morgan did all the talking…..now that’s a first. Morgan told Anderson that it’s ironic how the mic is like his golden ring to the wrestling world, but he got split open in the head with it last week. Morgan then taunted Anderson by saying he knows he (Morgan) knows that Anderson wants to hit him (Morgan). Morgan said do it…..just do it. Anderson winds up…..but then falls to his knees and takes a swing….not to his head, but to where the sun doesn’t shine. Morgan falls down instantly. Anderson goes to Matt and starts punching away at his head, but he stomps for a brief moment, which is all the time Morgan needed to grab Anderson by the throat to beat him up. As Morgan beats him up, Jeff Hardy comes out and tries to get Morgan. As all 3 are fighting……security guards come out and try to stop the fight. It’s not your normal stoppage though. Two come out and one grabs Jeff and the other Anderson and just throws them out of the ring. They were pretty rough when I first saw it, but I didn’t think much of it. They came back in the ring to Morgan again, but the guards then tackled them to the ground. I knew something was going on. It looks like Morgan has some friends to help him out. I’m not sure why they wanted to attack Jeff and Anderson, but I hope we find out more about them next week. These two guards had a match then. Their names are Murphy and Gunner. They teamed up with Morgan. The match didn’t last long. No one wanted to be in action as each person kept tagging out. But Jeff tagged Anderson and Matt tagged one of the guards, they went at it. It wasn’t anything special, but the main thing was that Anderson and Jeff won. Let me remind you….Jeff gets ANOTHER win!
It’s now the main event. Abyss vs. Tommy Dreamer in a Hardcore Match. This match was just like the name says…..Hardcore! It has weapons from trashcan lids, trashcans, kendo sticks, steel chairs, street signs, and even barbwire. It was a back and forth battle, with each person caring some momentum at each time they were at advantage. We saw Abyss set up a chair in the corner and sent Dreamer face first through it. We saw a side walk slam from Abyss on Dreamer right on a trashcan. We also saw Dreamer putting Abyss upside down in the corner and Dreamer doing a baseball slide to a trashcan that was in front of Abyss’ face, and if you can do that match, it was sent right into Abyss’ face. People would have thought Dreamer wouldn’t be that good, but they probably forgot. Dreamer just ended with the WWE this year. He was still doing everything there. A couple months doesn’t mean he would turn bad. I thought he did great in the match. He may have lost, but he was doing everything extreme. Now as I said before, barbwire was used. Well Tommy brought a barbwire wood plank in the ring and set it on the floor. He was about to put Abyss through it, but he reversed it. Abyss was about to send Dreamer though it, but Dreamer reversed. It went back and forth, but it ended up being Dreamer landing on the barbwire from a wicked chokeslam.
Even though the match was finished, that doesn’t mean Abyss is done. He got up and went for his girlfriend. She is just so violent, she splits wood. Actually, she is a 2X4 piece of wood with nails sticking out every which way. Abyss was about to have her meet Tommy, but Raven ran to the ring with a chair. He got in and backed up Tommy. As soon as Tommy got on his feet, Raven turned around and hit Dreamer with a DDT on said chair. Raven turns him over and was right in his face as the show ended.
Now I got a few words to say about this whole EV 2.0 extreme thing. There are many critics out there who are saying how bad it is to bring them back. They say that it’s a waste of time as they died in 2005 and should stay like that. Well let me ask those people something? Weren’t you cheering Stone Cold Steve Austin at the Hall of Fame last year to have one more match? You see, he ended years ago. And yet, you want him to have another match. Around and around we go. You also want The Rock to come back and doing something with the WWE. Well let me tell you, he doesn’t want to be in wrestling anymore. He may come back, who knows, but don’t get your hopes up. So this extreme, I know you all want it. You wouldn’t want to see real extreme matches? I mean you won’t find it anywhere else. Dixie is doing this for us and I personally can’t wait. I love extreme and love those weapon matches. It’s about time someone does it as we know WWE won’t even have weapons.
Now during the show, we saw some backstage segments and in ring promos.

One of the main ones we saw this episode was one with Ric Flair, Kaz, AJ Styles and Beer Money. Ric was talking about Jay Lethal. He said that in every contract he signs, he has a rematch. So he said he is facing Jay next week in a Street Fight. (Now that should be good!) Not only that, Ric said that Beer Money is in Fortune. The faction is now complete. Each member had time to talk. Kaz stated how they are the best faction in wrestling right now as they aren’t some rookies wanting control……(Love these WWE shots). AJ Styles got the mic and said that Ric deserves the best and that’s why he has the best in Fortune. AJ then stated that the Global Title is no longer the Global Title. AJ said that Fortune makes ratings and that’s why the title is now the Television Title. (I always loved that title name.) AJ is putting it on the line against Rob Terry next week, as I stated earlier. Roode then got on the mic and thanked Ric for allowing him and Storm in Fortune. He stated that it won’t be long until they hold the TNA Tag Team Gold. Right after that, their tag team match happened.
The last in-ring confrontation was between Eric Bischoff and Abyss. Well Eric came out to the ring as he had a huge announcement. He said on August 12th at 9 pm EST, people are going to see something they never saw before. Now I first thought he said August 9th, which is a Monday. I thought they were having a Monday show again. I was getting very thrilled as I wouldn’t have to watch a lame Raw. I realized he said 12th, but I was still very excited. He talked to Spike TV executives as Dixie Carter and the whole EV 2.0 inspired him. He said the entire night will consist of PPV Quality matches. I can only imagine what that is going to be like. I mean if we see Machine Guns vs. Beer Money on TV, imagine what it would be like at a PPV. I can tell it’s going to be special. But Eric didn’t talk long as Abyss came on stage and into the ring. He brought Janice with him. He told Eric that “they” want to make the main event for that night. Abyss said he has a blueprint of what “they” want. He said Abyss vs. RVD in a Ladder Match with Janice being held captive 15 feet in the air. Eric didn’t know what to do. But when Abyss wants something, he will do whatever it takes. He pointed Janice right to the throat of Eric and said he better make it happen. Eric, who was about to go in his pants, said he would make it happen. Abyss backed off and told Eric he is alright. Eric was still shaking in his pants though. But soon enough, RVD’s music hits and he comes down with a chair in hand. As he gets to the ring, he throws it at Abyss and it knocks Janice out of his hands. RVD jumps to the top rope and does a flying kick to Abyss. It knocks him down and in the corner. Rob grabs the chair, runs, jumps, and plants a low dropkick to the chair, which hits Abyss’ face. Abyss gets out of the ring as his match with Tommy Dreamer is about to start.
It’s time for the Tribune Top 5!

1. Jeff Hardy- Even though he didn’t headline the show tonight, he is still on his winning streak. Even though last week was a draw, so you can count that out, this past month, he has won 4 times. Draw is not losing but not winning, so he has stayed undefeated for the month of July on iMPACT!
2. Abyss- Even though Abyss was off of iMPACT last week, and off the Top 5 list on here, he came back this week scoring major points. Being in multiple segments and winning the main event, he is fighting for his spot to be back on top of this ranking.
3. Motor City Machine Guns- They finally won their match this week. They had some of the biggest spots of the night. It was a well deserved victory. Now let’s see if they can hold on to their momentum.
4. Beer Money- Even though they lost this week, they still put on one great match. They gave it their all. Not only that, they are in Fortune. Anytime you are with Ric Flair, it gives you some major points.
5. Angelina Love- She has proved herself once again as she faces for the Knockout Title.
Sorry to Samoa Joe, who was #2 last week, Dixie Carter, who was #3 last week, and Sarita, who was #5 last week, for being off the list.
We are thinking of Mr. Anderson as he almost got a spot on the list as it was close, but he got out beat.
That’s all the time for The TNA Tribune this week. Hope you enjoyed it like every other week. Don’t forget next week’s iMPACT as it will have Jay Lethal vs. Ric Flair in a Street Fight and Beer Money vs. Motor City Machine Guns in the Ultimate X Match. It’s going to be a wild night. Thanks everyone and please comment!

It’s July 22, 2010…..Thursday Night……and it’s time for The TNA Tribune. This newest recap show has been lighting up FTWnews.com and TNA! It seems that many people are reading the Tribune and following what I am saying. Well I, Alex Barie, would like to say thank you, and enjoy another edition!

Unlike recent weeks in TNA, this edition of iMPACT started off with a match. Not only that, it was a title match. And beyond that, the PWI’s 500 winner for 2010 was part of it. Let’s give you a rundown of the night’s match card:

Global Title Match: Rob Terry vs. AJ Styles

Winner and NEW Global Champion: AJ Styles

TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love & Taylor Wilde vs. Madison Rayne & Sarita

Winners: Angelina Love & Taylor Wilde

Kurt Angle vs. Hernandez

Winner: Kurt Angle

Samoa Joe vs. Jeff Hardy

Time Limit Draw

Matt Morgan vs. Ken Anderson

Winner: Ken Anderson

Best Of 5 Series Match Two – Anything Goes Street Fight: TNA World Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns vs. Beer Money

Winners: Beer Money

To recap and give my thoughts on each match, I am going to go in order. Now as I stated above, the first match was for the Global Title as Rob Terry faced AJ Styles. Now I missed a couple minutes of the opening of iMPACT, which means I missed most of the match. Now I have to say I missed it because I was working, but I did rush home as I couldn’t miss anything. Besides, I taped the opening so I will go back and watch it tomorrow. Now I saw the last 5 minutes of the match, around that time frame. I am only going to mention the ending though. It looks like AJ and Kaz are becoming more of a team. It seems like they have more chemistry. Hey, wouldn’t we all if we were members of a Ric Flair faction? Now as Terry was going for a suplex, Kaz, who was at ringside, reached in and tripped Terry. He falls back and AJ landed right on top of him. Rob’s shoulders were down while Kaz still held his leg. It was a three count, and believe it or not, AJ stole the title. Now I am not those kind of people who encourage people to steal or cheat or lie or anything like that, but if the referee didn’t see what happened, then it’s the referee’s fault. What happened, happened and usually it comes out to favor the person who did some sneaky act. Don’t blame AJ or Kaz, but blame the referee…..then again, it’s not like he knew what was going on.

I told everyone when I first started this recap show that I wanted to see more of Sarita. It seems like more people than I thought are reading this. Ever since then, Sarita has been on television and she actually had a match this week. Now did I say I like the direction she is going with her character? I am not too sure yet, but I do like the heel Sarita. All I am saying is keep her on television, give her some great feuds and watch her magic in the ring. I will never forget her debut match on iMPACT! Now it was Taylor Wilde and Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne & Sarita. It wasn’t too long of a match, but I really don’t think it needed to be. I see this match as a way to improve the already fueling rivalry. Sadly, Sarita lost, but Love and Wilde picked up the win. At the end of the match, the mysterious girl of mystery comes zooming in the iMPACT Zone on a motorcycle. Still having her identity sealed with her helmet, she pops her way in the ring and attacks Love and Wilde. After the beat down is finished, she gets back on her bike. Madison and Sarita follow her. As Madison walks with her, she calls for Lacey, but Velvet tells Lacey not to go. It’s a “tug of war” battle as Lacey is the middle part of the rope. She goes back and forth, but Madison wins as she pulls her to her side and they walk off together.

After that match, we pick it up a notch. The next match is a Top 10 Contender’s Match. It’s the first one out of two of the night. It’s the 8th Ranked, Kurt Angle going against the 7th Ranked, Hernandez. I thought this was another good performance of Kurt Angle. As this match was going on, I tweeted (Follow me on Twitter here) “Kurt Angle > Anyone else in wrestling”. It got a lot of retweets and a lot of people commented on it. Kurt did his classic, or as Michael Cole says, vintage moves. He did his 3 German Suplexes, Angle Slam, Ankle Lock, and Top Rope Moonsault. Now I usually, well barely, mention WWE stars on here. I mentioned Cole and I am going to mention Jack Swagger for a second. I have been watching WWE turn Swagger into a small Kurt Angle. Of course, they are nothing alike and they will never be alike, but it seems like WWE is missing that Kurt Angle style. They are making Swagger be like that, and he does do it good, but not as stellar as Kurt Angle. Like I said, no one is greater than Kurt Angle. You can imitate him, but it will only insult the person who is imitating. Kurt won this match, as his winning streak continues. He moves on to #6 and that is AJ Styles. AJ vs. Kurt……I can NOT get enough of that!

Moving down the line in the match card! We saw a Top 10 Contender Match and we are seeing another one. It’s Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe. Jeff ranked #2 and Joe ranked #4. As soon as I heard this match, I got excited. You know you are going to enjoy the show if just having someone talk about it makes you excited. This match went everywhere. It went outside of the ring and went all over the ring. Both stars hitting each other against the apron, ring barricade, ring posts, and ring steps. They got back in the ring and a war was started. Jeff controlled most of the outside attacks, but Joe controlled most of the in ring events. He went after Jeff like no tomorrow. But as the match wore on, it became a back and forth match. Both doing moves and both countering them. It was a hard fought battle without a doubt. We saw high risk moves, some ground and pound mat wrestling submission moves, hard grapple moves, and classic knife edge chops. Sadly the time ran out and the match came to a draw. Now I have to say, I don’t like and really never liked the time limit for the matches. It’s great in all for stuff like this though. Let me explain. Jeff has been undefeated for 3 straight weeks on the show. Joe has been 2-1 in the past three weeks. He’s on quite a dominate path. So with both of these stars really racking in the momentum, a time limit draw shows still gives them momentum and still gives them at equal spots they were at. Now if it was a Double DQ, it wouldn’t go over as good as you would expect a heel turn or a very violent streak of a person. A Double Countout is another good way, but the time limit draw was fine with me in this match. Like I said, I don’t like the time limit in matches, but it’s great when it’s a draw. Nonetheless, these two had a stellar match that I sure hope we see again.

We saw another singles match tonight and that match was right after the Jeff vs. Joe match. It was Mr. Anderson vs. Matt Morgan. I am very high up on these two. I can see Morgan is getting more and more time, but I still think TNA needs to push him to the next level. What level is that? Well the winning level. He needs to win. I mean he lost this week, he lost last week, and lost at the PPV. He has the look, the attitude, the character……but TNA needs to get behind him. I personally think if we see a match with him against RVD, it would be crazy. I know we don’t see much heel vs. heel, but Morgan vs. AJ would rock the place. As I stated, Morgan lost this week to Mr. Anderson. It was a short quick match, but to my dismay, Morgan did get the final word in without even saying anything. I mean he grabbed the mic and all, but didn’t talk….didn’t speak….just blasted it in the head of Anderson. It made him fall instantly and busted him open. He lied there as Morgan stood 7 feet in the air.

Now comes to the main event match of the night. Now as the night was wearing on, I thought this match wasn’t going to happen. I was getting worried. I mean no one talked about it the entire night. I don’t know if they said anything at the beginning of the show because I missed it, but I was starting to panic, but the panic didn’t last long. They announced it and I was thrilled. I had to wait through a commercial break, but it was worth it. Their match last week was amazing, and I could tell this week’s would be too. It was Motor City Machine Guns against Beer Money Inc. in a Street Fight. Beer Money is up 1-0 in the Best Of 5 Series, so Machine Guns needed a win tonight to tie things up. We saw a great hardcore bout as they used everything they saw. They used garbage cans, garbage can lids, kendo sticks, and so much other stuff. They flew in the air and pounded themselves to the floor with grapples. One spot I remember during the match is the suicide dive that Sabin did, but Roode blasted him right in the head with the chair. He then took the knees out of Shelley as he hit him with a chair in his legs. He spun around like a Merry-Go-Round and then fell to the floor. Further in the match, we saw a reoccurring scene from last week. It was where Brian Hebner, the referee of the match, got knocked out. Now his dad, Earl Hebner, was at ringside, but that really didn’t matter as he got knocked out couple seconds after his son did. There was no ref in the match now, but it’s not like you can cheat. The teams still battled it out, but Machine Guns did a wicked move from the corner……a Sliced Bread #2 plus Powerbomb on Roode. Shelley goes for a pin, but Storm comes in with his famous beer bottle and breaks it over the head of Shelley. It looks like he is knocked out. He falls over while Sabin enters the ring, but Storm kicks him right in the head with a Super Kick. He gets the ref back up and the ref counts to 5! No……he counted to 3 and Beer Money picked up the win again. They are now 2-0 in the Series. One more win and they win the Tag Titles. Machine Guns are going to have to pull something out of their hats……but their more like Men Without Hats as I never seen them wear hats on the show.

That was the main event match, but I didn’t say it was the end of the show. Before I get on with the end of the show, we saw some backstage segments and in-ring promos. One backstage segment was with Sarita, Madison Rayne, Lacey and Velvet Sky. It seems like the Beautiful People is breaking down and falling apart. They have been such a great faction in TNA, I really don’t want to see them come to an end, but it’s all in rivalries. Like I said, Sarita is having more time on television, which is the good thing out of this.

An in-ring promo later on in the night was with Kevin Nash and Jeff Jarrett. We saw Kevin come out after Kurt Angle’s victory. Kevin came in the ring and called out Jeff. After the commercial break, we saw Jeff come out. Kevin stated that he knew Sting for 20 years and he almost fell for Jeff as Jeff tried to blame Sting. Kevin said that he sees through Jeff and it’s him who, as he stated, “left the log in the punch bowl”. Jeff didn’t know what he was talking about, but Kevin retaliated. He told him once his 3 girls realize the true Jeff Jarrett, he will realize that too. Nash walks away as Jeff is left standing there.

We saw a couple short backstage segments involving Dixie Carter. Now I never have seen Dixie on television this much. I have to say, it was real nice. I wrote a couple weeks ago that it was very rare to see her on screen, but she’s proving me wrong now as she is popping up more and more. I love seeing her on as she can be a real asset to the show. She was backstage with Kurt Angle at one point. Dixie stated to him that she needs him to be behind her on this decision she has made. Kurt said he was behind him when he signed 4 years ago and he is still behind her. Dixie thanked him and Kurt left. Later on, Dixie met with TFC Founder, Jeff Jarrett. She also wanted him to be behind her tonight. Even though he didn’t know what was happening last week, she tells him it’s a good thing and needs his support. She goes on to tell him to tell the locker room that’s it’s nothing but good for TNA. Before both of those talks with TFC stars, we saw Dixie talk to Management in an office. She was standing up while everyone was sitting down. That’s what you call a high authority to low authority picture. She was yelling at them for what they did last week. One person she was yelling at was Al Snow who attacked a referee last week. He didn’t know what was going on, but she said he didn’t need to know. Someone who had their back to the doorway turned around and saw the camera crew. He sprang out from his seat and shut the door. The camera still rolls as we hear Dixie still yelling at the people.

Some other promos backstage were from Team 2-D…..oops, 3-D and one from RVD. Brother D-Von came in a room and talked to Brother Ray about what happened last week. He asked him why he didn’t come out. D-Von stated that those people have always been there for him and that they are family. Ray disagreed as he has done more in the wrestling world than anyone of them did. D-Von doesn’t take this lightly, but Ray walks out before anything else is said.

RVD was being interviewed by Christy. She asked him about what happened last week. RVD stated that it was great seeing them. He went on to say that he loved that time period. He said he is World Champion and with those people here, it’s the best of both worlds. He did acknowledge his title though as he still remembers he has people who are targeting him. He finally said he’s going to find some TV backstage to hear what Dixie had to say.

At the end of the show……which is the main event of main events of the night……had Dixie Carter in the ring with Rhyno, Stevie Richards, Mick Foley, Tommy Dreamer, and Raven. Dixie finally explains why she invited them to the shows. She always listens to the fans and always wanted to hear what they wanted. Well the fans wanted extreme! Everyone could probably agree that ECW last year was not ECW. It was a place that was for no-names. It wasn’t extreme, it wasn’t anything that followed the letters, ECW. Now I am going to admit that I have wanted some extreme stuff for awhile. Actually, it would be more than a year. I miss the old wrestling days where we had Steel Cage Matches, Ladder Matches, Street Fights, First Blood Matches, etc on free TV. I remember those tables splitting in half, chairs across people’s heads…..all of that! But with a show turning their TV rating, you don’t see that anymore. But a new and better show that airs on Thursday Nights is bringing that. We are seeing those Ladder Matches, Street Fights and I love it. I have to say…..it’s about time! Anyway, Dixie listened to her fans and brought the Original ECW Stars. They claimed that they miss the old days. It was a place to be back then. It was a great show, but it was ruined. Tommy stated that he saw his friends get fired and lose their jobs because the ECW program wasn’t the real ECW all because of a vision. After hearing from Mick Foley, Tommy Dreamer, and Dixie Carter, it was announced that there is going to be One More Night of extreme. Tommy is going to run the entire show. Book the matches, book the stars, do everything as Dixie said, it will be done right. I personally can’t wait for this as I heard it’s going to happen August 8th. I just may have to take off of work just to see it!

Here is this week’s TNA Tribune Ranking:

Jeff Hardy- Even though his match was a Draw this week, I count that as not even having match. He didn’t win, he didn’t lose. So really he is still undefeated on TNA. He holds the #1 Spot from last week.

Samoa Joe- Joe was forth last week, but moved up to two as he had a stellar match with Jeff. He is 2-1 in the past three weeks, but with him having a draw too, he’s still 2-1 as it didn’t help and didn’t hurt his match tally, but helped his ranking on here.

Dixie Carter- I have never seen more of Dixie Carter in one night. She appeared in many segments on the show and I personally think she did a great job. She admitted that she didn’t do a promo in the ring as it was really her. Promos are usually written up and in some character, but not her. That was truly Dixie. She has been part of a huge storyline in TNA and that gives her major points on the ranking scale. She moves up from #5 last week to #3.

Beer Money Inc. – I always knew they were impressive, but with them winning two straight weeks in a row, I cannot ignore it. They won in a Ladder Match and in a Street Fight. They are one more win away until they become Tag Champs.

Sarita- With her getting more and more television time, I can’t ignore that either. She may have lost this week, but she is making her way into storylines and feuds. Keep pushing her!

We are sad to see RVD leave the #2 Spot from last week. Also sad to see Abyss leave the #3 spot but we haven’t seen a single sign of Abyss this week.

It looks like The TNA Tribune is wrapping up this week. Another great TNA show and another great Tribune edition. I thank you for reading and come back next week to see what I have in store. The TNA Tribune!

July 15th, 2010 will be remembered as a Thursday. After concluding that, you know an episode of TNA had to be on. After watching this episode of TNA, you would see history in the making. This week’s TNA was off the charts in many ways. I’ll get more into it, but welcome to The TNA Tribune!

The show started off with Abyss as he made his way to the ring. He acted very odd this week as not only did he care his “little girl” to the ring, but he also cared a huge, raw piece of meat. He carried it over his shoulder and made it splatter in the ring when he dropped it. He talked about many things. He was calling out RVD, talking about his “little girl” and talked about how these people who are telling him what to do are coming soon. He is calling out RVD as he wants that TNA World Title and just wants to hurt RVD. He gave a name for his weapon he carries to the ring as he called her Janet. He then went on to say how “they’ are coming very soon and when they come, they are going to take over TNA. Abyss bent down and ate some of the meat he brought in, DISGUSTING! As he left, the new Top 10 Contender’s List was announced. Here’s the new top 10:

10. “The Freak” Rob Terry

9. “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero

8. Kurt Angle

7. Hernandez

6. A.J. Styles

5. Jay Lethal

4. Samoa Joe

3. Mr. Anderson

2. Jeff Hardy

1. “The Monster” Abyss

I have to say, I do agree with the rankings. Samoa Joe moved closer to #1 after winning a couple matches. Kurt Angle continues his way down the rankings, and Abyss, who took the #1 Spot in my rankings for the past two weeks, takes the #1 spot here. To see the irony in this poll……my top 5 last week is almost like the top 5 here. I had Joe as #4, Jeff as #2, and Abyss as #1. It looks like I am doing fairly well on the rankings of my own.

TNA’s Impact Match Card and Results:

Knockout Street Fight: Taylor Wilde vs. Sarita

Winner: Sarita

I Quit Match: Brian Kendrick vs. Douglas Williams

Winner: Brian Kendrick

Three Way Dance: Desmond Wolfe vs. Rob Terry vs. Samoa Joe

Winner: Samoa Joe

Best of 5 Tag Team Championship Series (Round 1, Ladder Match): Motor City Machine Guns(c) vs. Beer Money Inc.

Winner: Beer Money Inc.

Matt Morgan vs. The Pope D’Angelo Dinero

Winner: The Pope

Jay Lethal vs. Jeff Hardy

Winner: Jeff Hardy

Before the first commercial break, we saw Taylor Wilde and Sarita attack each other backstage. They were starting their Street Fight a bit early. As the show came back, we still saw them beating each other up. As soon as they came out to the Impact Zone for the audience to see them, the bell rang, and the match was off. I have to say this was a pretty good match. You really don’t see knockouts or divas hit each other with weapons or spend most of their time out of the ring. I mean WWE’s diva matches last for about 30 seconds and they are done. What fun is that? These two beat each other up though! They were some good hard shots in the match, but Sarita picked up the win. I said in the first The TNA Tribune that I want to see Sarita and they bring her on television now. She had a match and hopefully she will have more matches. I’m looking forward to it as she can really put on a match worth watching.

The next match of the night was an I Quit Match. It was a non-title match as the X Division Champion, Douglas Williams takes on Brian Kendrick. As you can see, Williams won his match at Victory Road, but this rivalry isn’t over yet. These two battled it out again and Brian Kendrick got the win over the champion. This match didn’t involve any weapons, but it really didn’t need to. It stayed in the ring and it was mostly a mat wrestling type of match, which is alright with me. I’m guessing these two will have another match with the title on the line once again, but I must think, what other match can these two be in?

Those two wrestled on the mat, but the next match had a Three Way Dance on their feet. Desmond Wolfe, who I am still high up on, faced Samoa Joe, and Rob Terry. I love the style of Samoa Joe, but I do have to say, I have never been a fan of Rob Terry. I just don’t think he is on too much to actually give him a character. I mean he has the gimmick of a really strong and built person, but that’s all I am getting from him. These three went at it with punches, kicks, and grapple moves. It was back and forth and forth with all three men. It looked like Wolfe was about to pick up the win, but Joe came in and took the match once again. Joe has been getting quite a great role in TNA in recent weeks. He beat A.J. Styles two weeks ago and then faced the TNA Champion last week. He’s 1-1, but with picking up the win tonight, he’s 2-1 in three weeks, which isn’t too bad. He’s working to that number one spot and that’s all that matters.

We saw, what I say, the best tag team match of the year at Victory Road. It was the Motor City Machine Guns against Beer Money Inc. for the TNA World Tag Titles. I just loved their match at the PPV. It was back and forth with some great and amazing moves. I have to say, I did like the double pinfall situation in that match, but I’m very glad they restarted it. Machine Guns picked up the win, they deserve it, and they now have their first tag title reign. As TNA went on air this week, they said that these two teams are having a Best of 5 Series. I knew it would consist of classic tag team matches. I was very excited to see this one. Once I heard it was a Ladder Match, I got even more excited. As the match started, these two teams went at it like tooth and nail. This Ladder Match reminded me of The Hardyz vs. Edge and Christian back in the day. Machine Guns and Beer Money took the risk and it paid off. We saw a classic tag team match once again. We saw high flying moves, hardcore stunts and attacks, and painful moves! I just loved it! If you are asking, I did like the ending too. The Machine Guns got the clipboard, but since the referee was done, he didn’t see it. Alex Shelly got hit over the head with a beer bottle; Beer Money grabbed the clipboard as Alex dropped it. The ref woke up and saw Beer Money with it and called for the bell. It was clever and it gives some added heat on Beer Money. Now these two teams are fighting off in a Street Fight next week. I thought it was only a onetime thing when we saw these two face at Victory Road, but nope! We saw them this week and now next week. I bet it’s going to steal the show again next week!

After that epic match, we saw a brief match as it was Matt Morgan against The Pope. Now I have to express my opinion about Matt Morgan. Even though he lost at Victory Road, I do think he should be in the Top 10 Contenders Poll. I mean I think Matt Morgan is one of the most underrated stars in wrestling today. I am not just talking about TNA, but all of wrestling. Morgan expressed to me how he can be a main event star and I believe he can. He has the look and character. He can move around in the ring and actually put on a match. Morgan, if given the chance, can really take off. Instead, he loses to The Pope, who I have no problem with. TNA has so many great stars; I don’t want to push one over the other. The Pope is great and I am very happy to see him back in action after being out from injury.

The final match of the night was Jay Lethal vs. Jeff Hardy. I am very happy for Jay Lethal getting a push. I mean this is a great push! I am an avid TNA fan as I have been watching for years. I never expected Jay to get this kind of push, nor did I expect he was that good on the mic and in the ring. I never saw him on television much, but after seeing him now, I am glad. Jay has some great mic skills, which is a key in the wrestling business. I remember long ago when it was the wrestling ability that made the wrestling business. Now it’s more of the mic skills and look that makes the wrestling business. Time changes everything! To get back to the match though, it was a quick match that went back and forth. Jeff picked up ANOTHER win again this week. Jeff won his match two weeks ago; he won his match last week in the main event, and won the match this week for the final match of the night. Jeff hit the Swanton Bomb on Lethal for the pin.

There have been a couple backstage segments and promos in the ring tonight.

One backstage segment is the on-going meeting that Kevin Nash wants with Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan. It seems that every time he wants to talk to them, they are always out. He talks to Eric’s secretary and he tells her to meet him at 10 tonight.

After the I Quit Match, Kevin Nash made his way down to the ring. He talks about Eric and Hulk again as he had enough. He goes to Brian Kendrick and chokeslams him to the mat. Nash stated if he can’t get the attention of them two, he will be beating all the stars up. Jeff Jarrett comes down the ramp then and tries to reason with Nash. Jeff states that it’s not about him or himself anymore, but about the young stars. Jeff saw what happened to Sting, who had a problem with Eric and Hogan, and he doesn’t want the same thing to happen to Nash. Nash didn’t want to hear anymore and walked out of the ring.

We saw a clip of Abyss backstage with his weapon of choice…..the 2X4 wood with nails sticking out of every way. He lifts it up and smashes it into a watermelon. Seems like he is getting closer and closer into using it! Watermelon gets stuck in the weapon and he lifts it up to his face and eats it. He had meat earlier and now watermelon….it’s a perfect Summer meal!

After the Matt Morgan and Pope match, we saw Morgan beat down Pope to a pulp. He tried to do a knockout kick, more like a squishing kick to the head of Pope as he would smash his head into the ring post and hit him with his foot on the other side. But Mr. Anderson ran out with a chair and stopped Morgan from doing the brutal action.

The ending was very special to this week’s TNA. You would have thought the Tag Team Ladder Match would be the special thing, but you are wrong. After the main event match and after the commercial break, we saw Ric Flair in the ring with A.J. Styles and Kaz. He announced that both men are the first two to be in his newest group, Fortune. As he announces that these two are the best in the world today, Abyss’ music plays and we see him walk down the ring with his little friend. It looks like he is on a rampage. Ric, Kaz and Styles flee the ring as Abyss comes in. He grabs a mic and calls out RVD. Without hesitation, RVD comes down to the ring. Abyss tells Rob what “they” have in store for him. He said that the next step is to take that TNA World Title from Rob and “they” would be here very soon. RVD didn’t like Abyss talking too much as he hit Abyss with the World Title and then attacked him with kicks and punches. He knocks him off his feet, but he doesn’t stay down for long. He gets up and goes in the corner. Rob continues his attack, but Abyss turns it around quickly as he slams RVD to the mat with a chokeslam. As he goes to reach for his weapon, Mick Foley makes his surprising return and comes out on the entrance stage. Abyss is shocked, but the ECW Crew come through the steel barricade and into the ring. They attack Abyss down and push him out of the ring. I have to say, I thought these people were with Abyss, but with them attacking him, I have no idea what’s going on! I mean who is “they”? It left me in total shock!

The night is not over yet. TNA security guards come to the ring and try to stop, but the main word is try. They didn’t succeed as the ECW stars took them out. After that, the TNA crew runs down to the ring. The ECW stars beat them up too. But some of the TNA Crew were actually ECW stars like Al Snow and Team 3D! Al turned on the TNA Crew and attacked them. Jeff Jarrett came out and tries to stop the madness, but it didn’t work at all. A camera shot shows Dixie Carter in attendance and she looks worried. She gets up from her chair and gets on the ramp. She has a mic in her hand as she states she is the one who invited them. Jeff Jarrett was in shock. The show ends with a shot of Dixie Carter looking confused and worried.

Here is this week’s TNA Tribune Ranking:

Jeff Hardy- Even though he lost at Victory Road, he has been undefeated for three straight weeks on Impact. Now that says something1

RVD- RVD retained the TNA World Title at Victory Road and now his next focus is the unstoppable Abyss. RVD is one of the main people to end Impact this week.

Abyss- Abyss is still the focus of Impact as his rampage continues. He climbed to new heights this week with a great twist on who is telling him to do what he is doing. He is the person who sets up the ending of Impact.

Samoa Joe- Samoa Joe is closer to the #1 Spot and he won his match this week as he still holds on to one of the top 5.

Dixie Carter- Dixie ends the show as she tells the whole world she invited the ECW stars. I am wondering if she will be on next week. It’s looking like she is going to be on air more and more!

That is it for this week’s The TNA Tribune, but don’t miss next week as we have Kurt Angle against Hernandez in a Career vs. Ranking Match. Not only that, we will have another classic Tag Team Match as Motor City Machine Guns take on Beer Money Inc. in a Street Fight. Do not miss it!

Get ready for the all new TNA recap show. This is Action, this is wrestling….this is TNA! This is…..The TNA Tribune. I’m Alex Barie and I will be sending you on a journey that, hopefully, you will like every single week. So sit back, relax, and enjoy The TNA Tribune!

July 1st, 2010’s TNA Impact started off with insanity. The show started out with Abyss in the arena destroying everything that was in his path and throwing chairs all around the area. He was going insane. A man by the name of Hulk Hogan came out and tried to stop Abyss once again. They went face to face for a showdown, but Eric Bischoff ran out with security to try to stop Abyss. As you would expect with the recent change in Abyss’ character, he wouldn’t take this easily. He beat up the guards and then tried to go after Eric, but Hogan hit Abyss in the back with a rock hard steel chair. It was like a fly hitting a wall. Abyss turned around and went after Hulk. He was just about to chokeslam him to hell, but Jeff Hardy runs out and adds to the mayhem. He attacks and beats Abyss until he is lying flat on the mat. As all three leave, Abyss gets back up and, believe it or not, wants more!

Abyss is not done though. He is truly a mad man. He goes on to destroy the backstage area until it looks like a tornado ripped through the place. As he settles down, Eric comes on stage and announces that it’s Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss for the main event.

Speaking about matches, the whole line-up is as followed:

Ink Inc vs. Motor City Machine Guns

Winners: Motor City Machine Guns

AJ Styles (Rank: 4) vs. Samoa Joe (Rank: 6)

Winner: Samoa Joe

Submission match: Desmond Wolfe vs. Brian Kendrick

Winner: Brian Kendrick

Jay Lethal vs. Matt Morgan

Winner: Jay Lethal

Madison Rayne vs. Taylor Wilde

Winner: Madison Rayne

Abyss vs. Jeff Hardy (w/ RVD as Special Referee)

Winner: Jeff Hardy

The first match of the night, the tag team match, was one of my personal favorites on the show. Anytime there is a tag team match on TNA, it always thrills me. TNA has the best tag teams around. The tag teams are always doing things that need for perfect timing, and they succeed. It’s very hard to find chemistry in the wrestling business, but when there is some, you want to ride it out as long as you can. We saw a fast pace tag team match that can’t be slowed down with anything. I can’t wait for the tag team match at Victory Road!

Whenever you see AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe, you know it’s a can’t miss situation. You may have expected more in this match, but after considering it’s on television and you need as much time as possible for other feuds to grow, the match wasn’t bad at all. We saw some great spots in this match, but at the end, it had Samoa Joe walk out as the winner after having AJ submit. I can’t get enough when these two battle. We know it won’t be the last time either. After the match though, AJ Styles confronted Kaz. A match is set up for next week as its AJ Styles vs. Kaz. This is a match that I can’t wait to tell you my thoughts on. Stay tuned for next week for that one.

I am starting to love the way TNA is using Brian Kendrick. Not only that, the feud he is having with Douglas Williams is shaping up to be one classic act. You have Williams who is trying to get rid of the high flying X Division, but does a move that is certainly something that high flying people do. You then have Brian Kendrick who is a ground for pound, action packed guy who can fly all around, but does the exact opposite as he dances with his opponent on the floor to choke them out. I hope you can see the irony in this situation. Their Ultimate X plus submission match at Victory Road should be very interesting. Anyway, the match with Kendrick and Desmond Wolfe was a short good match. I am very high on Desmond Wolfe. I really think he should be having some feud with some top guy to get his career moving, but I liked seeing him go against Kendrick. Kendrick picked up the win in this match as he gains momentum for his Pay-Per-View Match. Douglas Williams is competing in a Ladder Match, so let’s see how that plays out with his high flying resume.

The Jay Lethal vs. Matt Morgan match was particular short for me. Matt Morgan is another person who I think should be challenging for the TNA World Title. After seeing him face Kurt Angle last year, I saw how talented he was. Should he have won against Lethal? That is debatable for me as I am also getting high up on Lethal. The reason I am getting high up is from his great mic skills. His impersonations of Ric Flair as so precise, it’s negligible. So this match could have gone either way for me. We seen Supermex give Matt an old fashioned low blow just like Morgan did to him before. It’s all about getting even here. Those two will compete at Victory Road in a Steel Cage. As you know, Lethal capitalized and got the pin. We also see Lethal face Ric Flair at Victory Road.

TNA can’t end until we have a knockout match. I’m so used to saying divas match, but I would be wrong if I said that for a TNA show. This is certainly not a divas match by any means as these ladies can actually get in the ring and wrestle. Honestly, I only saw this match to give Madison Rayne some exposure for the Victory Road PPV. She got the win, but before the match was over, we seen some great faces enter the audience seating. It’s non-other than Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, Stevie Richards, and Raven. Each week there are more and more ECW Originals. I am not going to say anything now about the future, but is anyone else getting excited?

To end the match discussion, it is time for the main event. Abyss vs. Jeff Hardy as RVD is the special guest referee. This match would surely sell if it was in a Hardcore match, but I’m happy with the normal match type. This match went back and forth as the two #1 Contender’s for the TNA Title fought it out. With the TNA World Champion being the referee, it made things even more interesting. RVD called it down the middle (A true loyal face). Abyss wanted to grant my wish as he was trying to make this a hardcore match as he went to get his “toy”, a 2 X 4 with nails sticking out. He wanted to use it, but RVD simply said no and took it away. Abyss wanted to use a chair then, but again, RVD said no. Jeff Hardy grabbed the chair, and RVD didn’t take it away. Do you sense favoritism? Well Jeff never used it as a weapon, so you can clearly see why RVD had no problem with it. The match ended after Jeff Hardy hit Abyss with a thunderous Swanton Bomb. After the match, Jeff had to use the ropes to get to his feet, but he didn’t even get to his feet as Abyss got right back up and attacked Hardy from behind. Rob Van Dam had enough and went after The Monster, but he should have known, there is no stopping him. Abyss destroyed RVD. Then he destroyed Jeff Hardy, and lastly, destroyed Mr. Anderson as he tried to come out to get some revenge himself. Abyss was standing. The thoughts are still raging on who is telling Abyss to be this dangerous and can Abyss be the only man standing at Victory Road just like this episode, but with the TNA Title in his hand?

We seen some good matches on this TNA show, but we just didn’t see matches.

We saw the on camera return of Dixie Carter. She made her way into the building with some papers in her hand. She was on a mission, but what was the mission? We later found out that she was meeting with Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff to talk about, The Icon, Sting. Eric admitted that Sting is cancer in TNA. It reminds me of this epic moment on WWE years ago when Ric Flair was the cancer in WWE.

Cancer in WWE

Dixie later confronted Sting. She went right up to his face and told him he was suspended for 30 days. It certainly surprised me, but who knows if he is really going to stay away that long. He says that Dixie knows why he is doing what he is doing, but she honestly doesn’t know, and either do I!

I was glad to see another knockout segment on TNA. We saw Sarita and Taylor Wilde just beat each other to a pulp backstage. The question is……WHY? I am personally glad to see Sarita having television time as I personally love her in-ring ability. She is one of the best knockouts in TNA. Now we only need to see Hamana!

Now I can’t forget about this man. We saw a huge return on this week’s Impact. It was the former challenger of the TNA World Title. It was The Pope! I’m so happy that he is back and ready to go. He is already booked for a match at Victory Road. He is going against the Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle. The Pope is already in a feud on his first day back. Kurt Angle is barreling through the Top 10 Contenders and The Pope is in his way. This will be another must be match for the Pay-Per-View. The Pope returns to TNA and returns to PPV on July 11th. Make sure you know, The Pope is Pimpin.

To wrap up my thoughts on this week’s TNA, I have to say that my favorite match of the night was Abyss vs. Jeff Hardy with Special Guest Referee RVD. AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe comes in second, but it was close.

To end this and every week’s recap, I will be ranking the top people in TNA this week. We will see where they go next week ,but here is the debut ranking.

Abyss- Even though he lost his match this week, he gets the most television time and he ends the TNA show standing strong as his storyline is the top one in company right now.

Jeff Hardy- He picks up a huge win after beating The Monster Abyss in the main event match.

Samoa Joe- He may get closer to the #1 spot in the Top 10 Contenders Ranking, he may not, but he proved himself tonight after beating the former TNA World Champion, AJ Styles.

Dixie Carter- She had a huge week in TNA this week. She returns on air for Impact and shows some impressive mic and acting skills. Not only that, TNA’s video game for Nintendo DS and PSP came out this week. Beyond that, the TNA Action Figure line should be hitting shelves nationwide this week also.

The Pope- He makes his return to TNA in a great and big way as he is already set up for a match for Victory Road. He has his work cut out for him.

I came to the end of this week’s recap edition. Hopefully I didn’t excite you too much for next week’s edition of Impact. I know I am waiting for next Thursday already. If you have any thoughts, suggestions, or questions, feel free to comment! For now, wait until next week for another edition of The TNA Tribune!

Hello wrestling fans!

I am your newest writer and contributor to FTWNews.com, Joey Image. I just wanted to put together a quick introduction for you readers to get to know me a little bit. I’ve been a diehard wrestling fan for about 29 years, and an indepedent wrestler for 10. (Image Online)
I’m loaded with opinions and insight, and I think I can add a unique insider’s perspective to this site with my columns, articles, and commentaries.

Please feel free to send me any questions, comments, complaints, or even topics you want me to talk about. Every Friday I will be doing a special “Indy Insider” Q&A, where fans can ask whatever they want and I will answer as many questions as I can and post my responses. So get those questions to me by Thursday morning! The first Friday Q&A will be next week, which gives everyone a full week to get your questions sent in!
I can be reached at joeyimage@gmail.com anytime! I look forward to interacting with all of you!
See ya in the ring !
