The early ratings are in for the first installment of Monday Night Wars part 2. WWE drew a 3.4, while TNA drew a 1.0. We will see if these change in installment 2, March 15 at 8 pm.

Major iMPACT! SPOILER – The Opening Angle Revealed?

The big board backstage at the iMPACT Zone lists an opening segment for tonight as an in-ring angle with the participants of tonight’s main event – Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Abyss and AJ Styles.

TNA officials are keeping specific information off the backstage board today so it’s possible that there’s more to the opening segment than what’s listed on the board.

TNA has been heavily hyping the “first 5 minutes” of the show which leads some to believe there may be more to it. It’s possible that TNA is keeping things a secret and something is planned to open the show that will push back the in-ring angle with the four wrestlers mentioned. Maybe a former WWE star as a guest ref. in the main event? Itcould be something along those lines.

- TNA officially announced that Sting will appear on tonight’s show.

– Dixie Carter posted the following on her Twitter (http://twitter.com/TNADixie) today: TNA’s worked 8 yrs for this nite. I’m very proud & so excited. iMPACT! starts hot, don’t miss it. SpikeTV 9pm ET TONIGHT. Pls RT

– ProWrestling.NET is reporting that Jeff Hardy has arrived in Orlando at the iMPACT! Zone. Much like Janurary 4th he expected to appear but not wrestle a match.

– RVD is expected to debut in TNA tonight. It’s also possible Sabu has also signed a contract with TNA, however this has not been 100% confirmed.

– TNA will doing a live pre-game show tonight on TNAWrestling.com.

– TNA will tape next Monday’s episode of TNA iMPACT! tomorrow at Universal Studios.

Report: Sabu to Follow RVD in TNA? FTWNews & Twitter EXCLUSIVE

FTWNews.com has learned from The Sports Courier that Sabu will be following Rob Van Dam to TNA wrestling. Chances of seeing the suicidal, homicidal maniac will be 90 percent for Monday night as we kick off the Monday night wrestling wars! If we don’t see him Monday do not be alarmed, he should arrive shortly after that..

Though he never spoke a word in interviews, Sabu won multiple titles in ECW. He feuded with Tommy Dreamer, Tazz and Shane Douglas who he won the ECW Title from in 1993.

In a 1994 match against Chris Benoit, Sabu broke his neck after a botched back body drop maneuver. He continued wrestling even with the injury.

Three years later, Sabu defeated Terry Funk for the World Heavyweight Championship in a barbed wire match. The bout has been considered one of the “most extreme” of its kind.

Sabu has also worked in the WWE from 2005-2007 as well and briefly in TNA in 2002.

Sting’s new contract – expected to be there Monday night!

Spoke w/Sting last nite. We’ve renewed his contract & he said he wouldn’t miss Mondays live show for anything. Can’t wait to work w/Hulk

Given this, we should expect Sting to be on TV Monday March 8th during the LIVE broadcast. One would assume he would get involved with the Flair/ Hogan angle, though nothing has been confirmed.

Breaking (late) News: Mickie James Undergoes Surgery Twitter Exclusive

WWE Diva Mickie James had surgical procedures yesterday and today in an attempt to clear out a bad staph infection.

The location of the staph infection has not been revealed as of press time (looks like lower leg), but it’s bad enough that doctors advised James to undergo the surgery immediately which she has done.

James confirmed this on her Twitter account which was the original source of this news. She posted a photo of her leg wrapped up in a large cast.

WWE Announces Guest Hosts For Raw After WrestleMania

* March 8, 2010: Criss Angel

* March 15, 2010: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin

* March 22, 2010: Pete Rose

* March 29, 2010: The cast of Hot Tub Time Machine
(The night after WrestleMania)

Side note: The night after WrestleMania, thats the best they can come up with? Pretty sad, and it just means they needed to end this months ago.

Official: (finally) RVD signs with TNA – TNA upset with leakage

Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart were on The Jim Kerr Rock & Roll Morning show today to hype TNA’s move to Monday nights. When discussing talent that the company already has and has signed, Hogan said that he heard TNA signed a major talent last night. He then did RVD’s “thumb point” gesture. Check out the video (1:55) below:

With TNA moving to Monday nights and now news leaking out that RVD has likely signed with TNA, the logical assumption is that Van Dam is one of the “major surprises” TNA is teasing for Monday’s live iMPACT!

According to sources, people within TNA are said to be “fuming” mad that the RVD news leaked out.

Additionally, it is worth noting Spike TV has acknowledged the news of RVD signing with TNA on Twitter, writing: RT @TNA_FANS: HULK HOGAN confirms “Mr. Monday Night” RVD has signed with TNA Wrestling!
